Q&A with our New Web Developer, Angelica Nicolas

At Expose, we have new staff members coming in left, right and centre. First you met Chelsey, next you met Pip and now we introduce you to another female powerhouse - Angelica. Joining the creative department, Angelica has been brought into the family to assist with Web Development.

We stole 5 minutes out of Angelica’s time and got to know what a day is like in the big wide world of the web. Read our Q&A below where Angelica reveals everything that goes on behind the scenes of a website.

Q: Have you ever had a nickname or do you prefer to go by Angelica?

A: My name’s pretty long, so most people call me Ang!

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I was born and raised in the Philippines, but I moved to Australia when I was 10 years old - so I’d say I did most of my growing up in Brisbane.

Q: How would you describe your day as a Web Developer - what is exactly involved?

A: My days have been pretty chill so far. I start by checking if I have any pending tasks from clients and work on these. Most of the day I continue working on the project I’ve been assigned to - and when developing a new web page, I follow a design mock. So attention to detail and patience throughout the day is pretty important.

Q: Why did you choose Web Development as your career?

A: For me, web development is an exciting career because there’s so many new skills to learn. The industry is always evolving and it’s super satisfying to see your hard work on the internet where lots of users can interact with it.

Q: What’s your favourite part of building websites?

A: Definitely at the end when everything comes together and it’s ready to publish!

Q: What is your favourite thing to do on a Friday night?

A: Either eat out for dinner or binge watch a Netflix series.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would you go and why?

A: I’d want to go visit my family back in the Philippines because it’s been way too long since I last visited.

Q: What would your last meal choice and beverage be?

A: Chili jam soft shell crab and thai milk tea.
